Maya 2017 includes a number of new features, a new animation editor, and some interface tweaks. The latest version of Maya has just been released at Siggraph. Yes thats true, there are no issues rendering with CPUs, and the CUDA Cores do a little bit of rendering, it just seems that rendering on a GPU, using over 1500 cores would take more time than 24 cpu cores. the scene crashes and the leaves cannot even be manipulated. It sounds like the rendering issues are with CUDA not Maya itself since you mentioned it works normally until you tried to render with CUDA.I had to delete all of the trees in my scene ( a forest of them ) and cannot use the original tree in my working file. three days later the picture file was disconnected somehow and is not working on both the main scene and the working file I originally made the tree in (which then was imported on my main scene). this past weekend I made trees for my scene and connected a picture file for the leaves, an Arnold standard shader. first, I started my animation project on maya 2016 and mental ray, but maya 2016 crashed all the time, I was quite happy to see the next version, 2017 witch is much better in this regard.
